Trainer Philip Rothwell and jockey Tiernan Power Roche continued their red hot run of form as Warm In Gorey landed the ThurlesRaces.ie Handicap Hurdle.

Having combined for four wins in recent weeks, the duo added a fifth here with the six-year-old son of Sageburg.

Held up for the most part of the race, Power Roche produced Warm In Gorey to challenge the leaders after the second last hurdle.

Pushed along to lead at the final flight, the 9/2 chance went clear to beat Boston Rover by two-and-three-quarter lengths.

Tiernan Power Roche said: "Philip told me to take my time and come with a late run as we rode him cold the last day at Punchestown and he seems to love passing horses. He seemed to lose his confidence over fences but jumped very well today and took me into the race very well.

"Philip has been absolutely brilliant to me since I've turned professional. He said he'd support me and told me he'd give me rides and he has really backed me up, so I can't thank him enough."
