Willie Mullins trained accumulators are a regular feature of the Irish racing scene at present and the Champion Trainer rewarded punters with a 9/2 four-timer at Leopardstown today as his Village Mystic completed the feat in the concluding Leopardstown Club Membership (Pro/Am) Bumper.
Followers of Mullins were out of luck when a popular 4/1 four-timer 'accum' went astray in the concluding race at Gowran on Thursday but today the Champion Trainer scored big race wins with A Toi Phil (6/4), Douvan (1/14) and Faugheen (3/10) before Village Mystic (4/7) landed the bumper finale under Patrick Mullins.
Afterwards Mullins stated "I doubt if he will be going to Cheltenham but he's a nice horse and will go for a winners bumper somewhere.
"He's come from an unusual route in an English point-to-point and looks a horse that will stay, and he'll be a chaser rather than a hurdler.
"He's a big, heavy horse and I'm not sure that he will improve on better ground."
