Tylery Wonder caused a 25/1 (paid over 60/1 on the Tote) shock when taking the Glanbia Handicap over six furlongs at the Curragh.
The Choisir three-year-old, successful earlier this season at Bellewstown, was prominent throughout from his far side draw and kept on gamely inside the final furlong.
The Willie McCreery-trained gelding had haf a length to spare over fellow 25/1 chance Pierre D’Or at the line, with Invincible Ridge (9/1) a further length and a quarter back in third. Rummaging (6/1) completed the placings in fourth. Faleena (25/1) was withdrawn after becoming upset in the stalls.
McCreery said, “I told Billy to take him down nice and slow and come back fast. He kept picking up the whole way. Billy said he was hanging quite a bit but straightened up when another horse came to him.
"I'm delighted for the owners, the Kavanagh brothers from Co. Laois. They bred him and also raced the dam who ran well here in the past."
