After Juxtaposition at Leopardstown last night, A Lilac Rolla (7/1) was another winning two-year-old debutant for Paddy Twomey when landing the Irish EBF Auction Series Maiden.

A little slowly away, the 40,000 Euros purchase was given a patient steer by Bill Lee and moved up to track the leaders inside the final quarter-mile. Switched left for racing room over a furlong out, she quickened up well to lead inside the final 150 yards and had two lengths to spare over Nikki Swango at the line.

The winner carries the colours of the Mutual Admiration Society Partnership.

"I thought she was ready to run today and she just missed the kick and just went through the gears," said Twomey.

"Being by Harry Angel that's why I wanted to start her at six (furlongs) but I'd say she will be able to step up in distance and she is a lovely mover.

"She came from Fairyhouse (sales) and there is a E300,000 sales race for her on Champions Weekend at the Curragh so we will aim for that."
