After winning a beginners' chase in Tramore yesterday, Cusp Of Carabelli showed great zeal to follow up by a length in the Assembly Techniques Handicap Hurdle.
The six-year-old gelding forged on after the second last and toughed it out by a length. He was well backed from 5/1 to 10/3 favourite. Basil's Boy came in second at 9/1 with Cappacon a further 11 lengths away in third at 7/1.
Trainer David O'Brien said: "It is an unbelievable few days. Everything was well with him this morning, we left him out in the rain and he went out and rolled in the muck. We were aiming him for here and it is a short journey.
"I was worried about the rain but JJ (Slevin) said he handled it well enough and he is improving away. He was a very hyper horse but is starting to relax and he has two great jockeys in JJ and Sean Flanagan and they make a big difference.
"He could have a break and then come back for Listowel and can mix it between hurdles and fences."
