The Blues Traveller gelding was having his seventh start for his Dungannon, Co Tyrone trainer Lee Smyth and he recorded his second success for his new yard by just holding on to deny Holyfield Warrior by a short head with seven pound claimer James Sullivan aboard. An hour later Summerhill, Co Meath trainer Gordon Elliot recorded his second winner of the day (having earlier scored with Roi Du Mee in Gowran) when his Dirar claimed the last race on the card. The 4yo Kings Best gelding, who was bred by the Aga Khan, notched up his sixth racecourse success at 5/2fav to claim this valuable 1m 4f contest with Eddie Ahern in the saddle.
