The field for this afternoon's Aintree Grand National has been reduced to 32 horses following the withdrawal of the Venitia Williams' trained Chambard (no 33) and Gordon Elliott's Run Wild Fred (no 19).
Both horses were lame this morning.
Chambard was due to be ridden by Lady Amateur rider Lucy Turner. There are still two other female riders competing in today's race with Rachael Blackmore partnering former Gold Cup winner Minella Indo and Gina Andrews aboard Latenightpass
Amateur rider Tom Hamilton will also be disappointed to miss the opportunity to compete in today's race on Run Wild Fred.
The JP McManus owned I Am Maximus has moved to the top of the betting market for the race ahead of last year's winner Corach Rambler with Limerick Lace and Panda Boy also vying for favouritism in a wide open renewal.
Permission has been granted for Noble Yeats Galvin and Chemical Energy to wear Red Hoods to the start of the Grand National.
