Two for Godolphin and Buick at Naas Willie McCreery recently described Aridity as possibly a horse to follow for the season, and the Teofilo gelding justified plenty of support to supply William Buick with a Naas double in the Follow Us On Facebook Handicap. Again in the Godolphin silks, after winning the 2.35 on the Michael Halford-trained Anamba, Buick brought through Aridity (from around 7s earlier into 4/1) from mid-field to challenge from the two pole. On terms a furlong and a half out the successful chestnut led a furlong out. He kept on well in the final furlong, edging towards the rail on the way to a two and a half length win over The Mouse Doctor. Godolphin also had the third home, Theodorico (9/2 into 3/1 favourite). McCreery remarked: "He loves that ground. He's a big honest horse, and 80 was a nice rating. He had to be tough as he was caught on the rail, and he's still raw and changed his legs a few times. "Billy (Lee) got off him the last day and said ten furlongs didn't suit, and he hated the ground. He came on a tonne from the last run, and a mile on better ground suited him well." (AM & EM)
