Reserve True To Herself (7/1) made the most of her opportunity in the fillies' maiden at Listowel when coming home strongly under Billy Lee.
With two non runners in the race (Dolly Levi and Ilex Excelsa), Willie McCreery's filly got in and faced 14 rivals.
This was a second winner on the card for McCreery and Lee as they also took the opener with Mintd
True To Herself was fully ninth approaching the home straight and was pushed into seventh by Lee with two furlongs to go.
The grey daughter of Clodovil kept wide and made good headway into third with a furlong to race.
Lee soon got into the drive position and his mount swept past Zoffanyia and Proud And Elated
She was kept up to her work to beat Zoffanyia (16/1) by half a length.
Proud And Elated couldn't go with the front pair and finished five and a half lengths back in third at 5/1.
Willie McCreery said: "Eddie Lynam said yesterday he wouldn't run his horse (Dolly Levi) if the ground became quick so I'd a fair idea she'd get a run.
"She is owned by lovely fella Brian 'Beano' McDonald (and his father Tom McDonald) who was a good footballer for Laois. He was one of the best footballers in Leinster and this is his first horse in training. I told him she mightn't get in and not to bother coming down so I suppose he's fit to kill me!
"It's great for him as he bred her and I always thought she was lovely filly."
