Tried and tested works out at Tramore again There were a couple of lively ones at fancy prices in the betting this morning for the #1,760 Average Jackpot Dividend Handicap Hurdle. Those that went with the tried and tested Eoin Doyle-trained fancied runner at Tramore though, were rewarded again when 5/2 favourite Roman Numeral scored. It was bad luck on Colman Sweeney after his efforts to make the weight on Foolish Notions (put up a pound over at eleven four) but his mount had to yield to the Mickey Butler-ridden Roman Numeral by a neck. "He's been in and out form wise but his jumping has come on a lot and he had a job done on his wind. "He had his palate fired since Clonmel and if every race was around here we'd be doing well. "I think we'll send him over fences soon and he'll keep going over the summer," stated Doyle on his wife Gemma's now two time career winner. The aforementioned morning 'springers,' Pierlow and The Yellow Bin finished tenth and fourteenth respectively. The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Mr. W. Fleming, regarding the failure of K.P. Darcy, rider of Boherna Lady, placed, fifth to weigh in after this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having considered his evidence the Stewards disqualified Boherna Lady and severely cautioned the rider concerning his future responsibilities in this regard. (DM & EM)
