Trevanna made it two wins from two career starts when landing the big pot of the day in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Auction Race at Naas.
The 12/1 shot was held up in the early stages of the €100,000 contest by Chris Hayes before making ground turning for home.
The Kevin Prendergast-trained filly disputed the lead a furlong-and-a-half out and just got the better of a close finish by a neck from Cloistered
There was just another neck back to Massif Central who had edged the third spot by a nose from Youarewonder
Trevanna had made a winning debut at Down Royal last month when sent off a 40/1 shot.
“She’s was tough. She got a little bit warm in the prelims and there were a few struts that had to be removed so I just jumped off her. As soon as I did she started to drop and relax,” said Hayes.
“He wanted me to drop her in. When I came into the straight I said ‘she’ll pick up here’. I got there far too soon but she’s tough and gutsy.
“I thought I gave her a bad ride the first day but the boss said to ride her the exact same way today.
“I just wanted a clear shot at it today and to keep her going in that ground.
“We’ll see what he wants to do with her now. She just keeps surprising you at home how tough and hardy he is.
“I presume he might even sell her with (his daughter) Anne, himself and (son-in-law) Trevor owning her and he might re-invest but she’s a nice filly to have.”
