The Charlie Swan trained Emmpat made it a winning debut over fences when landing Division Two of the Twilight Racing Beginners Chase under Paul Townend making it a double on the day for the jockey.
Winning trainer Swan said afterwards, “Paul is a classy rider, David [Casey] is away on holidays at the moment and he’s a nice replacement to have. He is not an easy horse to ride. He is inclined to idle in front. We will go for a winners of one novice over two miles in Galway next.”
Townend’s earlier winner came aboard the Dave Myerscough trained Ghost Milk when the pair landed the Adare Handicap.
