Co Tyrone trainer Mervyn Torrens made the long journey down to Wexford well worthwhile when his charge Mac doni came home in front of the Whitford House Hotel (Q.R) Race in the hands of local jockey Jamie Codd.
“I thought he was entitled to run well after finishing 5th to Bahrain Storm in Galway last week after a long break off. He loves the soft ground and he wouldn’t want it any faster than it was today”, said a delighted Torrens.
"We will probably go down the handicapping route next with him. All he does is stay and we’ll probably go for a handicap hurdle next.”
“We bought him from Germany. He won the Cesarewitch over there as three year old.”
