The very much in form Make Good impressed in the Holden Plant Rentals Novice Handicap Hurdle at Gowran for John McConnell and Simon Torrens.
In his first handicap hurdle the successful Fast Company gelding went away approaching three out and his pursuers were soon in trouble.
He may not have been overly convincing three out or two out but 11/2 scorer Make Good was very assured over the last on his way to slamming favourite Jiving Jerry by thirteen lengths.
“His last few runs he’s bumped into a few nice ones, and I was hopeful coming here today,” said Torrens.
“There didn’t seem to be much pace so I didn’t want it to turn into a sprint like the last day in Fairyhouse. He missed the last there and got beaten.
“I wanted to go a good gallop as he seems to have plenty of stamina. He jumped great and did the job nicely.”
