Mervyn Torrens saddled two runners at the Down Royal Festival and following Isabellareine's success last night, Song Of Pride sluiced up in the Bet With Tote Ireland Handicap.
Paul Townend did the steering on the chestnut and he made virtually all, going clear from a furlong and a half out for an easy four and a half length win over favourite, Portant Fella For the young riding sensation this was a fifth winner since he returned to the fray at Navan eight days ago.
Torrens said of his 12/1 winner: "We thought he'd run well after his effort at Navan last time. He didn't have to improve anything on that. He'll go back hurdling."
