Torphichen digs deep to land spoils Torphichen showed admirable battling qualities as he repelled all comers down the straight to land the Ballyhale Chase at Gowran Park. Andrew McNamara sent his mount to the front at the fifth fence and he made the best of his way home from there. The pack lined up behind him down the straight but the 5/6 favourite kept finding plenty and repelled the late charge of Idarah by a neck to land the spoils. "He'll probably turn out again tomorrow week for the novice handicap chase at Fairyhouse," said O'Grady. "He wouldn't want it any quicker than today." O'Grady also revealed that Catch Me is set to go to the sales after finishing third in the earlier conditions hurdles on the card. "He'll probably go to Doncaster for their May horses-in-training sale. He might be easier to place in England. He's a sound horse but may just need a change of scenery."
