Tornado takes his Dad's race There was a great battle from a furlong and a half in the Big Bad Bob Maiden at Dundalk. Appropriately enough it was a son of the Irish National Stud based stallion that prevailed, the Michael Halford-trained Crazy Tornado gaining the day under Conor McGovern. Thirty three to one shot Inner Knowing had every chance but he couldn't quite match the front-running favourite Crazy Tornado. A neck split them at the line. Daisy Domergue caught the eye on her debut, four and three parts of a length back in third. "His penultimate run entitled him to have every chance. Last time they went a bit fast and it took him out of his comfort zone," said Halford. "The 7lb claim made the difference between winning and losing, and Conor gave him a lovely ride. He just got a bit lonely in front." W.M. Lordan, rider of Daisy Domergue (GB), trained by Edward Lynam, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount was slowly away, ran green and stayed on in the straight. (AM & EM)
