Tide Of Time (11/5 fav) was the form horse for the Indaver Handicap after last month’s course and distance second to subsequent Curragh winner That’s Mad and the Eddie Lynam-trained gelding duly went one place better.

Dylan Browne McMonagle bided his time on the 7-year-old before asking him to pick up racing to the final furlong. The 82-rated gelding soon led and prevailed by a neck from the persistent Dandy Spirit with Red Cymbal doing some good late work for third despite competing from well out of the handicap.

It was win number seven from 36 starts for owner Trevor Dalzell’s good servant, while for the runaway apprentice title race leader it was a 41st winner of the campaign.

Browne McMonagle said: “He had a bad stumble out over the road the last day. I thought he put the race to bed very easy the last day but I met it wrong and That’s Mad got up and beat me.

"He went on to win a premier handicap on Sunday so the form was good coming here and I was fairly confident.

“They went a real good gallop in front and I had plenty of horse to get the split whenever I wanted it. He got there very easy.

“The ground was slow as well which was right up his street. On a big galloping track and softer ground he should progress again.”
