Andrew Lynch, Ian McCarthy and Stephen Gray were all suspended for unnecessary use of the whip after their mounts finished out of the money in the third race at Cork this afternoon, the two miles and three furlongs handicap hurdle.
Lynch and McCarthy were both given seven day bans for unnecessary use of the whip after their chance had clearly gone, while Gray was given a two day suspension.
The riders' record in this regard was taken into account by the stewards in administering the punishments.
The 16 runner 80-102 rated event was won in good style by the Tommy Treacy-ridden Bonifacio
