Three-in-a-row treble for trainer Fahey Peter Fahey has sent one horse racing on each of the last three days and today's Clonmel runner Kojin (3/1) was a third consecutive winner for the trainer, with success in the Clonmel Handicap. Disco Boots set the ball rolling by winning at Roscommon on Tuesday, Qaabil landed a Gowran gamble yesterday and today Kojin, under Sam Ewing, completed the hat-trick with a three parts of a length over Dare To Flare. Fahey, whose next runner veteran Peregrine Run seeks a 20th win in tomorrow's Ulster Cesarewitch, stated “it’s unbelievable how well the horses are going since the beginning of the summer but it’s all credit to everyone at home." Regarding Kojin he said “when he won in Tramore we had him entered for the 1m4f (Petingo) handicap in Leopardstown on Champions Weekend. We were a few pounds short so we’ll see if he gets enough weight to get in - then he would go there. It’s a great pot and I think the step up in trip again will help him too. “Looking at the race today he travelled away fine, then struggled to get going but really stayed at it. “He has a nice mark over hurdles but we’ll keep him to the Flat this year.” Quotes from Alan Magee
