Three Majors ended the run of winning favourites at Dundalk when in race five, division two of the Christmas Party Nights At Dundalk Handicap, he prevailed at 16/1 under Ronan Whelan.
Owned by the Kimberley Racing Syndicate and trained by Paul Deegan, the successful three-year-old son of Lilbourne Lad led entering the final furlong.
He was strongly pressed in the closing stages but held on well from Shabra Emperor by a neck.
Favourite Reddot Express shaped well from the front but he ended up a length back in third.
"We're delighted with that. That's a surprise," said Denis Kirwan, broadcaster and journalist of the Kimberley Racing Syndicate.
"He hasn't had his ground on his last three or four runs. He ran here on his second start and ran no race so we didn't know what to expect. He got a great ride.
"He was named after Padraig Harrington and his form has been a bit like his recently.
"I'm delighted for Tom Ryan, who heads the syndicate, as while the rest of us lost faith a bit he never lost faith."
Dave Keena, racing journalist and broadcaster is also involved.
