Thistimesforgood a new recruit to the Gordon Elliott stable got off to a good start after he won the Killarney Vinters Handicap under a strong ride by Declan McDonogh.
McDonogh sent the 14/1 shot to the front from over two furlongs out but was all out on the run-in to hold off the fast finishing Born To Excel and Joseph O'Brien.
Winning trainer Elliott who is currently in Perth said by phone: "That's his first run for me today."
"We put a tongue tie on him which seemed to have helped. Good ground is really the key to him."
