Ten Theatre upstaged odds-on favourite Youcannotbeserious in the Summer Party Pack Discount Group Booking Maiden Hurdle at Kilbeggan.

The well-bred mare took over from Storm Racer leaving the back straight.

Youcannotbeserious tried hard to get on terms from before the turn in but the Robbie Power ridden Ten Theatre wouldn't relent and she eventually scored by a length and three parts.

They left Uchago twenty two lengths back in third.

"It's great for her to get a win. She's got a beautiful page and the owners will definitely breed from her afterwards," said Kate Harrington, representing her mother Jessica, the winning trainer.

"We'll look and see if we can sneak a bit of black-type somewhere, that would be very beneficial to her.

"She's only just filled her frame and is getting strong. She's a lovely filly and will improve again.

"We'll keep her on the go for the autumn. Puppy said the ground is a bit dead out there. She doesn't like extremes, very soft or quick, and that was her ideal ground.

"She'll have a few more runs this season and then we might leave her off to the spring."

C.D. Maxwell, rider of Run James Run trained by Donald Cashman, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount stopped quickly before the last hurdle .

B. Hayes, rider of Megans Bella trained by Anthony McCann, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount jumped the first hurdle big and slow and never travelled throughout the race.
