The John Geoghegan trained The Dancing Lord came out on top in the Crowne Plaza Leading Jockey & Trainer Championship Handicap at Dundalk this evening, winning in a tight race to provide apprentice jockey Dylan Hogan with a fourth career winner.
The Dancing Lord edged ahead in the closing stages for a head and a half length win over Plough Boy and Robin's Choice However the unlucky horse in the race was fourth placed and 7/4 favourite Bishan Bedi which failed to get any sort of clear run in the straight and finished a furth neck behind in fourth.
Following his win, Geoghegan stated "he's (The Dancing Lord) got guts to burn and as long as he's well he'll probably keep coming back here.
"Gary Halpin (regular rider but suspended today) recommended Dylan and he did exactly as I told him. For a 7lb claimer, he gave him a brilliant ride."
