Sizing Tennessee got the day off to a good start for Willie Mullins at Navan when making an impressive winning debut over jumps in the opening two-mile maiden hurdle.
Andrew Lynch produced his mount to challenge after the second last as the eventual winner and Rock The World took over from long-time leader Enjoy Responsibly
The 9/4 favourite (from 7/4) went on approaching the last and galloped on strongly in the closing stages for a three-and-three-quarter length win over Rock The World.
The Alan Potts-owned winner had last been seen when fifth in the Grade 1 bumper at Punchestown.
He had previously beaten only two home at Cheltenham having gone there a leading fancy after two impressive victories.
“I couldn't get him fit and I feel he'll improve quite a bit. He came in very strong from grass,” revealed Mullins.
“He's a natural jumper being by Robin Des Champs. He disappointed at Cheltenham last year but he might be back on track now.
“He's starting to show what he shows me in his homework. He's a horse that could easily go out in trip.”
Boylesports introduced Sizing Tennessee at 16/1 for the Albert Bartlett at Cheltenham and 20/1 for the Neptune.
