Tarabiyn showed the benefit of his hurdling debut at Roscommon last month by taking the Ballinrobe Members Club 2015 3-Y-O Maiden Hurdle in fine style.
The Willie Mullins-trained gelding set the pace, and quickly settled the issue when stretching clear approaching the final flight.
Paul Townend’s mount completed a fine round of jumping when pinging the last, and the evens favourite scored by over eight lengths despite being eased down in the closing stages. Credulous took the runner-up spot, with Hannah’s Magic in third.
Townend said, “The experience stood to him a lot. He jumped very slow the first day and everything happened very quick but he jumped much better today and he really got the hang of it. He’s learning the whole time.
“He got his toe into it today and he liked it but I don’t know if he’d like real winter ground.”
There was drama at the first flight where Princess Tamay ran out through the wing but fortunately both the Tom McCourt-trained filly and rider Andrew Lynch appeared fine afterwards.
