Gary Lavery recorded his first race track victory when coming home in front aboard the Oliver Brady trained Takestan to land the Derrinstown Stud Supporting I.T.B.A Apprentice Handicap.
Seventeen year old Lavery from Co Cavan is a graduate from the Race Apprentice School and it was his 3rd ever ride this evening.
Winning trainer Brady stated, “I’m delighted for Gary. He came to me on a week’s work experience and his mother told me he wanted to be a jockey so I suggested he go to the Race Apprentice school and he’s only just out of there.”
