2010 winner Takeover Bid returned a year on to repeat the dose in the seven furlong handicap at Cork when claiming the second division of this year's renewal.
Willie Supple bounced the gelding out in front from the stalls and he proved ultra game to land the spoils. Bonnie Acclamation threw down a big challenge in the straight but couldn't find a way past and Niall O'Callaghan's charge found more close home for a length success.
It was a double on the card for Supple, who had struck earlier on Roicead in the five-furlong handicap.
O'Callaghan moved to Ireland a few years ago after a successful training career in the US.
The Enniskeane handler admits he has found it tough, however, and this was his first visit to the winners' enclosure since this gelding scored last year.
"It's been a bit of a struggle although despite the recession we've collected a few handy horses and will produce them later in the year."
When asked about plans for the winner O'Callaghan joked:- "I'll wait until here again next year! Like myself he's a bit in and out."
