Super seven for Elliott as Easywork lands bumper Easywork lived up to his name when running out a convincing winner of the concluding bumper at Down Royal this afternoon, giving trainer Gordon Elliott his seventh winner at the two-day meeting. The Network gelding was making his first start in the Gigginstown colours having been third on his only previous outing at Naas back in February. Jamie Codd always had the 8/11 shot to the fore in the two-mile contest and he was asked to quicken away from Ultima Thule a furlong-and-a-half from home. The five-year-old quickly asserted and Codd could afford to ease down close home to record a nine-and-a-half length win. Elliott said: "I will probably go jumping hurdles with him now because he is a keen type. "He'll win plenty of races. He's a nice horse and a bit keen. "It has been a good weekend." Codd added: "He's a very nice horse and ran very well in a bumper in Naas. "Michael O'Leary bought him afterwards and he is an exciting horse for the future." (Quotes by Michael Graham)
