Sun scores in the mud Love In The Sun stuck on best in the closing stages to claim the three-year-old handicap at Cork. It developed into a duel from two-and-a-half furlongs out between the Moyglare filly and top-weight Erysimum, who appeared to be travelling better. That rival came under pressure with over a furlong to run, however, and Love In The Sun got on top in the closing stages, under Pat Smullen, to record a two-and-a-quarter length win at odds of 6/1. The Dermot Weld-trained daughter of Kodiac had two all-weather runs under her belt last month and had been third on her penultimate start at Dundalk. "It was a brave effort and being very well bred, it was nice to get the win,” said Kris weld. “She'll go for something similar next. All her family got a mile and a quarter and she'll get it too."
