Inchidaly Copper trained by Alexander Ott and ridden by his son Andy Burke-Ott, landed the I.P.R.S. Handicap Chase.

The four-time point-to-point winner won a Downpatrick handicap hurdle a couple of years ago when under the care of Michael Winters.

Here, having tracked the leaders throughout, the 9/1 chance led between the final two fences and went away to beat Greenway Machine by four-and-a-quarter lengths.

"He came back last season and we done a bit with him but he never got back to proper form," said the winning trainer.

"We ran him a couple of times lately and the last day in Roscommon he started to show a bit of form again. We thought he might have a chance today.

"This horse is worth a lot to us as Andy won his first hurdle on him and Luke won his first point-to-point on him. I train outside Kanturk but Banteer is where I'm originally from and Owen (O'Flynn) is a neighbour. He has a handful of horses with us.

"We've had a bit of success in point-to-points. I have a restricted licence and can only have four, but it's good to give my two sons a start because it's hard to get going.

"We'll have to scratch our heads and have a look at what's coming up for him now. Hopefully he won't get too much of a rise for today. He has a low enough mark over hurdles and might go back over them too."
