Straightforward for Stromberg in Roscommon opener Stromberg justified 1/5 favouritism for the second time in as many starts, as he impressively dismissed his five rivals in the opener at Roscommon this evening, the Irish EBF Median Sires Series Race. An eyecatcher when second on debut at Leopardstown in July, the Joseph O'Brien-trained bay made the breakthrough in emphatic style at Galway, coming home 10-lengths to the good. Settled in mid-division by Dylan Browne-McMonagle, the Iffraaj colt made progress on the outer from early in the straight and swept to the front from the two-furlong pole. He soon went clear in the colours of Teme Valley and had seven-lengths to spare at the line, with Barnso (11/1) and Billy Lee filling the runner-up spot. "He's lovely and is progressing really nice. He's sharpening up with every run," Browne McMonagle said. "I travelled really well and like the last day he kept powering clear. He gallops out through the line which is a good sign. He's a lovely colt. "He handles the ground well." Additional reporting by Alan Magee
