Steve has McGuinness followers Dancing after Tipperary win The Ado McGuiness trained Dancing Steve recorded a first career success when staying on strongly to land Division l of the Breens Farm Machinery Apprentice Handicap at Tipperary. Fourth of 18, against his elders at Cork last month, the Highland Reel gelding made the most of this opportunity back amongst fellow three-year-olds. Sent off 5/1 under Adam Caffrey, the Breen White owned runner held a prominent position throughout, tracking the leaders in the first half dozen. Ridden in fourth over a furlong out, the eventual winner stayed on well inside the last to get up to beat Simple Endeavor close home. Ado McGuinness: “He ran well the last day. I’m delighted with him and he was a very cheap horse. “Breen (White, owner) is in Spain on holidays at the moment and he wants to go to Listowel, so I’d say that’s where he’ll head after this. “He was a bit unlucky in a few runs. I ran him over further and I didn’t think he got home. “Adam was good on him and didn’t commit too early and he stayed on well. It’s another winner for him and he’s close in the apprentice title.” Additional reporting by Alan Magee.
