Trainer Andy Slattery’s excellent year continued at Tipperary today as his Sir Dreamalot under jockey Declan McDonogh, made all to win the Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund Premier Nursery Handicap.
The son of Sir Prancelot went clear of his rivals in the straight and while 4/5 favourite Utah moved into second place close home, Sir Dreamalot ended up scoring an easy four and a quarter lengths win.
Slattery later stated “he is a good tough horse and stays well and will get a mile and a quarter.
“His owner Adrian Costello is a son of (late horse trader) Tom Costello and tried to sell him after he won but couldn’t. He is a tough versatile horse though and will go on any ground.”
Sir Prancealot's win was the 16th of the season for Slattery, from just 73 runs.
