The Philip Fenton trained Shraheen made a winning return to action when showing plenty of determination to see off The Nagger Reidy to land the @tipperaryraces Novice Handicap Hurdle.
First past the post at Kilbeggan last time, the gelding was subsequently disqualified after a banned substance was found.
Able to race off an identical mark of 102 here, the five-year-old was effectively a winner without a penalty.
Travelling well under Niall Moore, he went on entering the straight, closely pursued by recent Listowel winner The Nagger Reidy.
That pair had the race between them from the second last, with Shraheen just finding that bit extra on the run-in to hold the last named by a neck.
Philip Fenton said: "I suppose he went the scenic route but not getting penalised for Kilbeggan was a help as it turned out.
"He is a lovely big horse with a great attitude and a lovely way of going and jumps very well. You'd say he'll jump fences in time and is from a great family."
