Sheehy steers The Names Jock home The Names Jock rewarded market support in the concluding Leopardstown Members Club Handicap. A mile and a half was the trip and the winner began his challenge a furlong and a half out. He responded well to pressure and moved to the front inside the final furlong and stuck to his task well to fend off a staying on Yafordadoe (11/2) by three parts of a length for trainer John Kiely. The winner was backed in from 7/1 to 5/1. With 17 runners competing, punters were paid a place dividend on Melburnian (11/4f) and Shebergan (28/1) in third and fourth respectively. Jockey Mikey Sheehy said: “He jumped smart from his high draw so I was able to slot him in nicely and get into a rhythm. “I got a lovely split in the straight and he quickened well.” Additional reporting by Gary Carson
