Danny Sheehy (17) rode his first racecourse winner when steering Rahyah home from the front in Dundalk's concluding mile and a half handicap.

The jockey is the son of trainer Eamonn 'Dusty' Sheehy and is apprenticed to him.

He was champion pony rider last year and had 170 winners from approximately 500 rides in pony racing.

Sheehy moved Rahyah into an early lead and the pair travelled well as the opposition all came off the bridle a quarter of a mile out.

Rahyah was ridden out in the final furlong by the young jockey and powered away to win by two and a quarter lengths at 8/1. Abraham (4/1) and Reddot Roman at 6/1 picked up minor prize money in second and third respectively, with a head separating them.
