Mikey Sheehy is riding with loads of confidence at the moment and the in-form 5lb claimer was seen to great effect on Olivia Valere (16/1) in the Taxi4horses.com Handicap.
Sheehy restrained the Cable Bay filly towards the rear of the field and gradually moved closer to the leaders on the stands’ side from three furlongs out. He delivered his mount with a perfectly-timed hands and heels challenge well inside the final furlong to score by half a length and a neck from Coffeemeanscoffee and Florence Thompson
Runner-up at Tipperary in August, this was a first victory in thirteen starts for the winner and put Sheehy on the 28-winner mark for the campaign.
Winning trainer Peter Fahey said: "Mikey gave her a brilliant ride, she's not the most straightforward and probably doesn't find a whole lot off the bridle.
“Trip-wise we don't even know as she travels so strong but doesn't find much, but he gave her a great ride today.
“She's a filly with a very good pedigree so it's important to get a winning bracket for her. She's entered at Gowran next week and she might turn up there.
“Every time she's run she's run respectable races. She's a filly that I think will strengthen up a lot next year as she's a big filly and only a frame. The lads will have a bit of fun with her.”
