Topweight Bridge Native (7/1) won the Core Bullion Traders.ie Handicap Chase in the hands of Conor Orr.
Racing a bit keenly behind horses on the first circuit, the Stowaway mare was allowed stride on and she just lasted home by half a length from the staying-on Alice Johnston (in receipt of 22lbs from the winner). Roachdale House was third, a place ahead of the 8/11 favourite Bective Cave
Bridge Native was winning for the third time in all, and her previous victory had come over course and distance at the New Year’s Day meeting.
It was a good day for the Orrs, with 5lbs claimer Conor’s win here following on from brother Oisin’s win in the Gowran Park feature on Kastasa 0AWinning trainer Dot Love said: "The distance was a little bit short for her and the ground was a little bit faster than we thought.
"She jumped herself into that position and when she got out in front she wanted to stay there. I'm very pleased with her and with Conor (Orr) too.
"We find it hard to find the right race for her because really two mile two would suit her. Today was planned and it worked.
"She might come back here next month, she likes it around here, she is a good battler up the hill.
"We asked Conor to sit in second or third but they weren't going fast enough in front so he got the opportunity to go out in front and dictate it and that suited her really well.
"She's not good at sprinting at the end, but she is very honest and a great jumper."
