Punters were enjoying a good evening at Down Royal when Sean Og Coulston the fourth favourite of the day took the Blackberry From Barclay Communications Handicap in the hands of Pat Smullen.
John Colemans charge who was held up early made his headway from over two furlongs out.
The 7/2 favourite was produced by Smullen to lead one furlong out and kept on well to win by a convincing three lengths.
James Nash who was representing the winning trainer stated: “This horse is named after John’s [Coleman] grandson.”
“He was a bit unlucky the last day at Dundalk. He’s a very hard horse to keep sound.”
“He hasn’t been in training for three years and this is the first time he’s got a clear run at a race and he did it well.”
