Seabass warms up for a third crack at the Crabbie's Grand National with a run in the Daily Mirror Chase at Down Royal.
The Ted Walsh-trained 11-year-old, third at Aintree in 2012 and 13th last season, faces five rivals in the three-and-a-quarter mile test after shaping well in his first race for eight months when second in a hunter chase at Fairyhouse three weeks ago.
"This is his last run before the National and he's in top form," said Pat Glynn, of owners the Gunners Syndicate.
"He had colic in November and that's why he didn't run until recently. He's back now and had a nice comeback run when he was thereabouts.
"It's a tough race with Bog Warrior in there, but it's a good prep for the National. The last day was as good as ever I saw him and he's a more composed horse.
"The plan is if he runs well he will definitely go to Aintree and hopefully make it third time lucky!"
The Tony Martin-trained Bog Warrior is one of three horses carrying the Gigginstown House Stud colours, along with Gordon Elliott's Toner D'Oudairies and Charlie Swan's Make a Track. Raz De Maree trained by Dessie Hughes and Yes Tom from Stuart Crawford's yard, complete the sextet.
