Champion Trainer Willie Mullins completed a double at Punchestown today when his Scotsirish under Ruby Walsh, ran out the fortunate winner of the Grade A Guinness Handicap Chase.
Scotsirish’s stablemate Apt Approach was in the lead until falling at the final fence leaving Scotsirish to score a two and a half lengths win over Lucky Wish
Afterwards Mullins revealed “I don’t know if we’re happy with that result or not as I received a text message from my son Patrick who had him organised to go hunter chasing next season!”
“He was a bit fortunate but it was great to win a prize like this. He has been a good servant over the years and will stay handicapping.”
