Saylavee impresses in bumper victory Saylavee created a very favourable impression when never even coming off the bridle to easily land the concluding Next Race Day Meeting June 10th Mares INH Flat Race at Clonmel. The five-year-old who was making her second start for Willie Mullins was always travelling easily and went by the leader without having to be hard pressed. Patrick Mullins had a double handful all the way up the straight and could afford the luxury of a glance over his shoulder at toiling rivals. The winning jockey said; "she isn't a big mare and just hated the ground at Limerick so we put her away until the ground dried up. She wasn't strong enough for winter ground at Limerick and it is quite quick there but she enjoyed it and that's more like what we expected the first day. "I think she would be well up for a winners' bumper and there is usually a mares' one at Killarney. "She came from Aidan Fitzgerald's (point to point handler) and jumps very well so I'd imagine she'll win plenty through the summer and autumn." Additional reporting by Thomas Weekes.
