Say different class in finale Say won like a 1/6 shot should as she made short work of the opposition in the concluding fillies maiden at Cork this evening. Joseph O'Brien was content to sit on the tail of leader Silky Pyrus in the mile-and-a-half event before hitting the front turning for home. The hotpot was asked to quickened at the two pole and soon put daylight between herself and Alkali, who had come through to give chase. O'Brien kept his mount up to her work before easing down close home for a comprehensive nine length victory. Alkali faded in the final furlong and was eventually pipped for the second spot by long-time leader Silky Pyrus. The race had cut up with the defection of two leading contenders before racing. The winner was gaining a deserved success having just failed to get up on her previous start at Leopardstown. “She should be a stakes filly,” commented the winning rider afterwards.
