Saludos has punters smiling

Saludos was a strong order for the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Beginners Chase, and the 6/4 favourite duly justified the confidence when making most of the running in this two miler.

The outcome was certainly in some doubt with little to choose between the jolly and chief market rival Lucky William (3/1) approaching the final fence. However the latter stumbled badly on landing at the last, and this firmly handed the initiative to Robert Power's mount who kept on well to score by seven lengths.

Trainer Jessica Harrington was represented by travelling head lad Eamon Leigh who said, “He loves going left-handed and likes that ground. He may have needed the run last time at Punchestown, and the aim now is Leopardstown at Christmas which will suit him. This was a decent beginners chase.”
