Second reserve Street Runner took full advantage of his opportunity as he took the Allied Bakeries Handicap Hurdle over 2m 6f for his trainer Karl Thornton with Eddie O'Connell aboard.
Sent off at 12/1 the 6yo son of Rainbow Quest soon tracked the leaders and got on terms at the third last.
He hit the front before two out and stayed on well on the run-in to score by a length and three parts at the line.
Recent Kilbeggan winner Neighbourly finished second at 7/1 for Paul Magnier under Brian O'Connell while Raajih was a short head back in third at 6/1 for Gordon Elliott and Paul Carberry.
The Tony Martin trained Dream Champion completed the placings back in fourth at 20/1 while the 5/2 favourite Namarama finished a distance last of the nineteen runners under Niall Madden.
Winning trainer Karl Thornton said afterwards: "He wants a big galloping track. He ran well at Cork but he keeps getting balloted out.
"He doesn't come downhill. He got a lovely ride and I thought he would win. He will stay three miles.
"I train in Skerries and have four horses in training at the moment."
