Michael Winters' Rose Milan was the easy winner of the opening Berkshire @ Kedrah (Mares) Hunters Chase at Fairyhouse, scoring a wide-margin win under 7lbs claiming amateur jockey Chris O'Donovan.

The daughter of Milan dead-heated to win her point-to-point at Belharbour in February and today moved past leader Shuil Mhuire Lass at the second last before eventually beating that rival comprehensively by 16 lengths.

Afterwards trainer Winters stated “she was third staying on in her first run at Dromahane and the next day she was outclassed by a good mare of Damian Murphy’s.

“She pulled a muscle and was off for two months but has been in training for about eight months and was super fit. She’s honest and tough.

“I don’t know where we’ll go with her now. She’s owned and bred by a Waterford man Mark Walsh.”
