Rogers gains Elusive winner Harry Rogers enjoyed a welcome turn when his Elusive Ridge easily took the Fethard Maiden at Clonmel today, scoring well under five times Champion Jockey Pat Smullen. Smullen, as ever, judged the pace of the race to perfection, racing the son of Elusive City prominently, before regaining the lead two furlong out, eventually stretching clear for an easy seven lengths win. Afterwards Rogers, recording his first winner since last October, reported “it must have been an ordinary maiden and he was entitled to win like that. He likes fast ground and hopefully will end up at the Galway Festival along the way.”
