Rocket's win not a surprise to all Originally put in the outsider of the eight for the Martinstown Opportunity Handicap Chase, Rolling Rocket attracted investors in the ring, from 14s into 10s, and the nine-year-old Turtle Island gelding showed that support to be inspired with victory under Paddy Kennedy at Naas. Stephen Ryan's charge put this rivals to the sword from before the second last and he had the pursuing The Mooch well held when that one came down at the last. It was left to Boher Call and Venture Lazarus to chase home Rolling Rocket at distances of eight lengths and half a length. Ryan explained in the aftermath: "He loves it around Navan and Naas as it's a stiff two miles. He doesn't get two-and-a-half but loves a stiff two miles. "He's a super old leaper. He ran very well at Navan back in the spring when he was second to The Parishioner. "He's owned by a very good man in John Kearney, who is from Trim, and I'm delighted for him. He's with me a long time and leaves me alone to do my own thing." (GC & EM)
