River finally gets there Mississippi River justified odds of 2/5 in the concluding Killetra (Pro/Am) Flat Race at Cork. John Kiely's charge did so with the minimum of fuss by four lengths to bring up a double for Robbie McNamara. McNamara earlier successful on the Weld-trained New Phase, led under two furlongs out here on the hitherto unlucky Mississippi River and he eased on in the final furlong to beat the promising newcomer Grove Pride. Kiely remarked: "He has lived up to expectations. It's hard luck on the other chap (David Kiely who rode him at Galway) as he just ran into trouble there. "He was always a promising horse but he is an immature horse. He'll stay in bumpers for this season."
